Due to a years-long absence of mainstream basketball cards, the 1986-87 Fleer Basketball set not only marked a return to the market, but also contained the rookie cards of multiple Hall of Famers who made their debut in the interim, including Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, Clyde Drexler, Dominique Wilkins, Isiah Thomas, and Hakeem Olajuwon.
“Thirty years later, the issue stands near the top of the list of all-time great basketball card sets.”
