Originally billed as a more “affordable” Lamborghini, the Jalpa is sometimes overlooked in the mix of 80’s era excess that gave way to the Countach. The Jalpa, however, was more drivable, more rare, and arguably more important, having been credited with pulling “Lamborghini back from the brink of extinction” during a particularly tumultuous time for the manufacturer. The cameo as Stallone’s favorite Lambo in Rocky IV didn’t hurt its credibility either.
“…its launch helped the Mimran family pull Lamborghini back from the brink of extinction.”

#88LJ1 Details
The 1988 Lamborghini Jalpa is an asset that doesn’t come around very often- a piece of art that has remained untouched for nearly 30 years. As Jalpa #409 of 410 built, Rally’s #88LJ1 is one of the last in public hands. This model has at times been overlooked as the little brother of the Countach, but without the Jalpa Lamborghini may not have survived the 80’s. A true “preservation class” example down to the tires, now showing under 2,300 original miles, #88LJ1 is a look at the future through a 1988 lens.
